THE TEAM

Neil

Neil Anderson

Neil has been an English teacher for more than 20 years, and a teacher educator for over 15. Originally from Manchester, England, he has lived and worked in Thailand, Japan, Turkey, Switzerland, the UK and Hungary. He believes there are several key elements that make the language classroom and language learning effective: these include engagement, collaboration and responding to student needs, all of which are central to the philosophy of kultiVár.

Jared

Jared Butler

Originally from New York City, Jared’s been an English teacher and copy-editor in Budapest for 6 years. His students are often surprised to hear how much he prefers living here. For him, helping people develop an enjoyable and confident relationship with English is a large part of the path.

Jason

Jason Craig

Jason has worked in education for the best part of ten years. Originally working with teens with special educational needs in the UK and now as an English teacher in Hungary for the last 5 years. He remembers how uninspiring language lessons were at school and aims to create a different, more exciting space to learn. He feels that cooperation and collective learning is vital in achieving this.

Anna

Anna Felinger

Anna has a master’s in education and has been teaching English and Hungarian to all ages for 10 years. Having lived abroad at a young age, she remembers well how frustrating it is when you can’t express yourself in a language. Perhaps this is why as an adult she’s been dedicated to helping others with exactly this.

Patrick

Patrick Kőnigh

Patrick has been working in and around education for more than 5 years. Having lived in the U.S. and then majoring in English, it’s safe to say that the language is definitely a passion of his.

Saci

Sarolta Szarvas

Saci, a Budapest native, met the other members of kultiVár through learning English. Interestingly, when she was young, Saci hated studying English. However, it’s a huge part of her life now because her partner is from the UK and she’s part of kultiVár so she uses the language everyday. Saci is passionate about cooperating with people and making things work.

Viki

Viki Vígh

After a few years of journalism, Viki decided to dedicate her professional life to non-formal education. While leading a pretty unique training course in Portugal, a job opportunity found her, and thus she discovered her vocation. She has been teaching and mentoring teenagers at a complementary high school since then. She joined kultiVár because she wanted to teach English to adults and kids with diverse backgrounds. And she can’t wait to have yoga sessions with the kultiVár community as often as possible.
